A short story

A long time ago, there was a beast, a beast like no one has ever seen. It had the body of a cow and a snake for a tail. The most peculiar thing about this beast was that it had not one, not two but five heads. Each head was shaped like a bird's head. Each head was a different colour. One was red, one was blue, another being green, the other being yellow and last but not least, was the odd one out, the one in white. They named themselves according to the colour they are.

One would image that being born of the same body would make these birdbrains live harmoniously but they quarrel and quarrel everyday. Why you ask? It is because they all have one stomach but individual tastebuds.

Every time food is found, they fight amongst each other until one gets the food. Red, Blue, Green and Yellow always fought when it came to food but White did not.

One day, they found a carcass of an ox. Red said, "This is mine as I am the big head!" Blue replied, "Oh no you don't! The oxen be mine!" Yellow shouted, "Me first! Me first!" Green screamed random words as he was overwhelmed by excitement. White, however, stayed quiet.

As Red, Blue, Yellow and Green quarreled over the meat, White started to fall asleep.

When White woke up, he saw his brothers laying dead at his feet. They heckled and pecked till they feel into eternal sleep. The last one remaining was White. He chuckled as he said, and this was the first time he said anything, "Oh my foolish brothers! You have killed yourselves! Now, I can enjoy all of the meat I want"

He pecked and ripped the remains of his brothers and ate them. Then, he finished his ox. He trotted away as his little snake tail swayed. He felt it was a good day.
