Singapore Holiday Trip and a Happy New Year

It has been a long time since I have written. Now I got a lot of things to write about.

Well, firstly in Singapore and the rest of the world. The time I am writing now would just have became New Year. So, Happy New Year. Now it is already the start of the Year 2010. Make the most of your life in the Year 2010 by doing things that will benefit others.

I should start to type about the first day of my Singapore Holiday trip but I shall tell you some details. This trip was sponsored by the most generous and kindest man and Guru I have ever met, H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche. When you think about your Guru, think of him of one with the Buddha. Any Buddha will be fine as long as it is the one you mainly practice on, for example for me it's Lama Tsongkhapa.

Ok, now I shall start to type on the first day of the trip. On the beginning of the day, Mama, Aunty Susan and I had to run some errands. Firstly, we had to send Jannic to the vet for heart worm treatment. After dropping Jannic off, we went to the post office of Telawi. While waiting for Aunty Susan to do the stuff she needed to do in the post office, I bought Subway sandwiches. I had a chicken teriyaki sandwich while Mama and Aunty Susan had some sort of Salad Sandwich. After that, we went Singapore. It was a very long trip.

When we reached Singapore, the first thing we did was to go to our hotel. Our hotel was Hotel Re! It is a very colourful hotel. The room was quite small though.

After that, we went to the Singapore Night Safari. When we arrived, the place was quite packed. We went for the Creatures of the Night Show. The show was quite cool with very entertaining hosts and very cute animals too. The show ended with a special message regarding the environment. They invited some animals up onto the stage to recycle some stuff but it was quite cute the way they put the rubbish in the cans. One of them was fooling around with the tin can. The host asked the trainer what it was doing. The trainer said checking. The host asked checking for what? The trainer said checking for expiry date. It was so funny. After that, they finally completed but there was a problem, no one picked up the plastic bottles. They were actually meant for another animal but it was too shy. SO the host ended up picking up the plastic bottles. At the end of the show, we were in for a treat. There was a special deal for one of the souvenirs. The souvenir was a snow leopard toy. The souvenir which was originally $22 was now for $10 for the first 10 customers. I got it!

When meeting the animals during the walk through the forest a.k.a zoo, we chanted some mantras for all the animals. You can chant the Medicine Buddha Mantra. Which is Tayatha Om Beckanze Beckanze Maha Beckanze Beckanze Ranza Samughate Soha. You can also chant Nangyalma's Mantra. Which is Om Droom Soha. Kindness towards animals is very good. It is the same with all sentient beings. War brings nothing, it just takes lives. Not just people but animals too. You must know that every sentient being would have been your mother,father, dog,cat etc.

After that, we went to Singapore's 24 hour mall, Mustafa. To me it was kind of a Mamak Mall :|

After that we went to a vegetarian restaurant. I had a cheese tosai and a chocolate milkshake.

The next morning, I woke up early because I could not sleep. So, I started to read my book until it became a bit brighter in the sky. I asked Mama for the key and I went downstairs to take a walk around. People were eating their breakfast. They were mostly foreigners. I gotten hungry. So I went upstairs to ask Mama whether I could have something to eat. In the end, I started to eat some instant cup noodles.

After that the day truly began, we went to Sentosa Island. Firstly, we went to have some lunch at Delifrance. Then we went to the underwater world. It was very interesting. There was even an audio tour. I accidentally dunked the audio machine in the touch pool so it ended up broken. I went to return it and exchange it. I took the tour around. It was very interesting. Some people think that fish is vegetarian. Does it look like a vegetable? No, Right! Fishes swim!!! They have gills. Eating fresh fish like picking the crab/lobster out of the tank and tell the restaurant people to cook it.

After that, we went back to Hotel Re! After that we went to Clarke Quay. It was a very cool place. They had a bungee chair. Aunty Susan played a game called the pick game. I hate to be the victim of the pick game. What is the pick game? It is just a game where the victim is given two choices. The choices are each bad. In this case, very bad. Aunty Susan sounded like she really meant it and wanted to force me up to the bunjee chair but I was too scared. I don't like to go on stuff like those. The choices she gave me were go on the bungee chair or cut off my toe . I don't like either. If you go on the bungee chair you will not feel your legs. If you cut of your toe it would hurt but it has the same result . That is my perspective. That shows that I actually have a weak mind. But never mind that, time to type about the next day.

The next day was Aunty Susan's Birthday. * Blows trumpet*

We went to the Tooth relic temple. It housed Buddha Shakyamuni's Tooth. It also kept Shakyamuni's Intestines, eyes, brain ( he has a colourful brain which has like 4 different colours ) etc. I do not know how they know which is which. To me they all look like tiny balls!

After that, we went to Orchard Road. I just learned how to pronounce it. The ch is not pronounced like a K. We originally went there to see the lights. Instead we went shopping. After, 3 hours of shopping, we went to a Japanese restaurant. Unsurprisingly, there was little things that were vegetarian but it is the only restaurant that sells something vegetarian.

After that, we went to see the lights a bit. They were like big balls of light floating in the sky.

After that, we went back to our Hotel. The first thing we done was get a cake for Aunty Susan. Then we sang the Happy Birthday song.

~~Happy Birthday Song~~

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Haaaaaappy Birthday to Aunty Susan,
Happy Birthday to you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now we waited. Waited for what?We waited for New Year. We did not get any count down. There were no fireworks but a new year is a new year. Mama told me that New Year is just another day, It is just another day closer to dying. I know that is true.
Today is our last day in Singapore. I think later we are going to Bright Hill temple.
Hope you like my blog!!!!
