Happy New Year to everyone in the world.

The New Year is to celebrate opening a new chapter in your life or the turn over a new leaf. One thing most people do not know about the New Year is that the New Year shows us that we are one more year closer to death.

In 2010, I have officially became thirteen and became a teenager. In 2011, I am going to be fourteen.

One of the most key parts in the New Year Celebrations is the Resolutions that we make. In 2009, I had no Resolutions. This year, I have one Resolution. That is to become Vegetarian. I think that will be a blast!

I wonder what are everyone else's Resolutions? I hope they keep to it.

I wish for every sentient being to have a nice, long and stable lifetime for 2011!

Rinpoche has written a blog post about his new years wishes here:

Happy 2011!

There has been a battle between Mac and PC. I will share the differences between the Mac and PC. Lets analyze every factor that is important within a computer.

(I am writing about the Desktops)

1. Speed

Mac: Very fast in browser opening speed, faster internet, faster booting up.

PC: Slow in browser opening speed, slower internet, slow booting up.

One point for Mac.

2. Weakness against viruses

Mac: Minimal. The bad part is you cannot buy pirated software.

PC: Maximal. The good part is that you can buy pirated software.

One point for Mac.

3. Looks

Mac: Very snazzy and cool. It really improves at a monumental rate each time there is a new model.

PC: Very big and Bulky. New models remind me of the old Macintosh.

One point for Mac.

4. Size of computer

Mac: Most models these days do not even have an external CPU anymore. Easier for transport if you are movie house or bringing your Mac to a workshop or to your office. One power cable is enough.

PC: Heavy external CPU. Not good for transport. Too many wires.

One Point for Mac.

AND THE WINNER IS....

Of course, the Mac.

What can be worse than a PC?

The answer would be a Mac running on Windows. All of the PC's bad qualities will be inputed into the sleek design of the Mac.

Yesterday and today, I have been watching a lot of Rinpoche's videos on Youtube. Today, I am going to write about my thoughts about some of the videos.

1. Don't embarrass the Buddhas

Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkICMrNG78M

Description: The Most UNLIKELY Dharma Talk.

It is enough, stop embarrassing the Buddhas and the lamas...

My thoughts: I think it is a very funny Dharma talk. I will not give up when things go down anymore. Why? Because if you keep on feeling down , you cannot practise Dharma. No one wants to be near any one who treats others badly.

2. FUNNIEST Dharma Video!

Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wK-OclDBfx0

My thoughts: It is extremely hilarious but it is totally true. Lama Tsongkhapa is very peaceful. I really am confused when people think that Setrap is scary. I have went to Indian temples before. There I have seen even scarier gods than Setrap. I love Tsongkhapa. I have a Tsongkhapa Statue at home and a few Tsongkhapa Tsa Tsas too.

MUMU BONUS: MUMU GOES BYE BYE

My thoughts: Mumu cute!

Today, it rained extremely heavily. There was a lot of lightning. As one could already have figured out from the title of this blog post, a blackout occurred.

I was really freaked out. I ducked and buried my head in pillows in panic as I have not faced this situation before in my life. The situation was that there was a blackout and I was home alone.

After panicking for a moment, I quickly ran outside. I bumped a lot into my sofa as it was pitch black. It was during this time I scorned that this house used tinted windows as it was not that dark outside but it was pitch black inside the house as if someone forced my eyes shut.

I chanted OM MAHA YACHA TSA SOHA as I ran outside of the house and then I called Mama to ask for help.

Luckily, she knew how to turn the electricity back on. It was just a flip of a switch.

I felt that by chanting Setrap's mantra I have gained confidence to navigate through the house in the dark despite my great fear of darkness.

TRON: LEGACY

Uncle Wee Liang took me out to see Tron in Gold Class. Gold Class is very nice and comfortable. Instead of a tiny chair, the Gold Class has recliners that come with blankets. You do not have to bring your drinks or popcorn in but instead a waiter comes in and gives you them.

Here is the wikipedia page for TRON for more info:

Tron is a very interesting movie as it has a lot of cool battle scenes and great music. The best part about Tron is that they refer to Buddhism not once but twice.

The first time is when the phrase, "taking yourself out of the equation" is said by Quorra when in Flynn's house in the grid. Taking yourself out of the equation means selflessness and selflessness is one of the good qualities we must possess according to Buddhism.

The second Buddhist thing that is mentioned is meditation as Flynn seems to meditate at every second when there is no fighting in the movie. Meditation is a method to achieve inner peace with oneself.

SUCK

Here is the wikipedia link for SUCK :

Suck is a movie that was recommended by Rinpoche. It reminded me of a straight version of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It is a rock band turned vampire. i am still analyzing the movie to look for some Dharma within it. It is an honest Canadian comedy. You will get a lot of laughs from it Suck parodies many of the popular stances by famous singers such as the Beatles when they are crossing the street.

One of my favourite parts in the movie is that when the bass player who is a vampire is hungry, she is told to go suck on a cow by the roadside. I just thought that was pretty funny.

THANK YOU UNCLE WEE LIANG FOR THE GOLD CLASS TICKET TO TRON!!!!!!!!
This morning, I woke up a bit earlier as I was going to go with Uncle Wee Liang and the two Matthews to swim at the Selangor sports club. It was very nice. I managed to swim a lot but I now got sunburn.

Later, we went to play badminton. It was so fun. I played so hard. I nearly felt like I was going to pass out but it was a really good workout.

After that, Uncle Wee Liang and I picked up Uncle Wee Liang's dog, Bimbo from the pet grooming salon.

Then, we went to Boathouse for dinner. At Boathouse, they have a great vegetarian Lasagna.

Uncle Wee Liang is a really great guy. He always takes time out of his busy life to take care of the young Kecharians or Kecharians who are young at heart.

I really want to thank you Uncle Wee Liang for caring so much about me and all of the Kecharians.
